Iran has struck a fully laden Kuwaiti oil tanker in Dubai's port anchorage area, damaging the hull and igniting a fire aboard the Al-Salmi, a very large crude carrier. The attack occurred just after midnight, 31 nautical miles northwest of Dubai, according to Kuwait Petroleum Corporation.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reported no injuries among the crew and said emergency response teams were immediately mobilized to contain the fire and assess damage. The state-run company warned the attack may have caused an oil spill in surrounding waters. UK Maritime Trade Operations confirmed the incident.

This marks another escalation in Iran's campaign targeting shipping in the Persian Gulf, following a pattern of attacks on commercial vessels. The timing and location of the strike near one of the region's busiest ports raises concerns about the safety of maritime trade routes critical to global energy markets.
