Kalshi Launches Rolex Price Betting Contracts

Luxury watch enthusiasts can now bet on Rolex and Patek Philippe prices through Kalshi's new event contracts. The platform partnered with Bezel to create prediction markets for high-end watches, allowing users to trade on outcomes like price thresholds and model discontinuations. This follows similar contracts for sneakers and collectibles like Pokémon cards.

Quaid Walker, CEO of Bezel, said watches have long been treated as financial assets but also driven by passion. The contracts aim to make luxury watch investing accessible to more people. Kalshi, founded by MIT graduates and valued at $11 billion, has been expanding into collectibles after deals with major financial institutions.

Regulators have challenged Kalshi's sports contracts as gambling rather than derivatives, raising concerns about market manipulation and insider trading. The controversy intensified when Polymarket contracts tied to US-Iran conflict drew over $529 million in volume, prompting questions about information advantages. Bezel's real-time pricing model will integrate with Kalshi's platform, potentially broadening the luxury watch market beyond traditional collectors.
