JPMorgan Banker Warns AI Debt Tests Bond Market Tolerance

Issuance from AI leaders is testing the tolerance of the bond market, with price premiums a telltale sign, according to a top Europe bond banker at JPMorgan Chase & Co. Matthias Reschke, head of European investment-grade finance at JPMorgan, said in an interview with Bloomberg TV’s Anna Edwards and Tom Mackenzie that investors’ willingness to participate in AI-related debt transactions depends on price levels. “We will continue testing at what price levels investors will be able to participate in these transactions,” Reschke stated. He added that while placement is not in doubt, the success of such issuances hinges entirely on pricing. The comments reflect growing scrutiny over whether bond markets can sustain elevated valuations for AI-driven companies as issuance volume increases.
