Israel Claims 60% of Iran Missile Launchers Destroyed

Israel says it has destroyed more than 60% of Iran's ballistic missile launchers, dramatically reducing the threat to Israeli cities and regional targets. IDF Chief Eyal Zamir announced Thursday that strikes have neutralized a majority of these sites, though exact numbers weren't disclosed. Earlier that day, military sources had cited 300 launchers.

An IDF official told Bloomberg that targeting launchers is strategic since they're fewer in number than missiles themselves, making each strike more impactful. The campaign appears effective - Channel 12 reported only 20 missiles targeting Israel Thursday, down from 80 on the first day. Meanwhile, Iran has shifted tactics in the Gulf, increasingly using drones instead of missiles for attacks on UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain.

Israeli and US airstrikes have killed at least 1,332 Iranians, according to Tehran. Military officials estimate it could take months or years for Iran to rebuild its launcher capabilities. Israel has also struck approximately 150 missiles directly. With about 2,500 ballistic missiles before the conflict, Iran had nearly recovered its pre-June arsenal of 3,000 missiles before this latest escalation.
