Nigeria's Dangote Petroleum Refinery has begun exporting fuel across Africa after reaching full production capacity, shipping about a dozen cargoes to markets as far as Tanzania. The refinery, which is Africa's largest, has started sending shipments to five countries, marking a significant milestone in the continent's energy sector.

Dangote's facility, located in Lagos, has been ramping up operations over the past year to reach its full capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. The refinery's ability to produce and export fuel represents a major shift for Nigeria, which has long relied on imported petroleum products despite being a major crude oil producer.

The move comes as Africa faces ongoing energy challenges, with many nations struggling with fuel shortages and high prices. Dangote's entry into the export market could help stabilize regional fuel supplies and potentially reduce costs for importing countries.
