Dangote Group and Ethiopian Investment Holdings have submitted a proposal to build oil and gas pipelines through Djibouti, a move that could reshape energy transit routes in the Horn of Africa. The small East African nation, which already hosts key port infrastructure, stands to gain significant business from the project.

Djibouti confirmed the proposal, signaling interest from major regional players. Ethiopian Investment Holdings, the Ethiopian government's investment arm, partnering with Africa's largest industrial conglomerate points to serious commercial intent behind the project.

The proposal gives Djibouti leverage in regional energy corridors. If approved, it would position the country as a critical node for oil and gas transit between Ethiopia and global markets, strengthening its port economy further.
