Caspian Pipeline Consortium halted oil loading at its terminal on Russia's Black Sea coast following a drone strike on the facility. The disruption affects a critical export route for Kazakh crude oil flowing to global markets via the Black Sea.

The consortium, which operates the 1,500-kilometer pipeline system from Kazakhstan's Tengiz field to the Russian port of Novorossiysk, suspended operations as a safety precaution. The pipeline typically handles about 1.2 million barrels per day, representing roughly 1% of global oil supply.

Authorities are assessing damage to the terminal infrastructure. The incident underscores ongoing vulnerability of energy infrastructure in the region amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Market participants are monitoring for potential supply impacts and duration of the shutdown.

Caspian Pipeline Consortium officials have not provided a timeline for resumption of loadings. The pipeline is majority-owned by Transneft and KazMunayGas, with international shareholders including Chevron, ExxonMobil, and Shell.
