Asda reported another quarter of declining sales but said demand in recent weeks has started to pick up at a grocer that's still only "in the foothills of recovery." The UK's third-largest supermarket chain, which has been without a full-time chief executive officer for five years, said like-for-like sales excluding fuel fell 2.3% in the second quarter, a sharper drop than in the first three months of 2026. Asda has now suffered nine consecutive quarters of declining comparable sales.
