Anthropic has secured $30 billion in fresh funding at a $380 billion valuation, nearly doubling its worth and cementing its position as one of the world's most valuable private companies. The artificial intelligence startup announced Thursday that Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC and Coatue Management led the massive funding round.

The deal attracted a constellation of heavyweight investors including D.E. Shaw & Co., Dragoneer Investment Group, Founders Fund, Iconiq, and MGX. Tech giants Nvidia and Microsoft joined alongside venture capital heavyweights Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners. This latest round significantly bolsters Anthropic as it competes with OpenAI in the AI race.

The funding values Anthropic at roughly double its previous valuation, reflecting surging investor confidence in its AI capabilities. With Big Tech firms and elite investors backing the company, Anthropic's war chest positions it to accelerate development and challenge OpenAI's dominance in the rapidly evolving artificial intelligence market.
