League Planning & Postseason Narratives
The National Hockey League announced the return of the World Cup of Hockey slated for February 2028, naming Calgary, and Prague as the initial host venues for the international tournament. As the regular season nears its conclusion, speculation mounts concerning potential upsets in the bracket, focusing on which projected wild-card teams might mount a serious run when the playoff structure solidifies. Furthermore, fan interest is already tracking veteran players such as Brent Burns among the "old guys without a Cup," whose quest for a first Stanley championship defines powerful rooting narratives heading toward the 2026 postseason.
