NHL Playoff Picture
The NHL's 14-game slate Saturday features a marquee matchup between the Bruins and Capitals in a battle of Eastern Conference contenders, with both teams jockeying for playoff positioning as the regular season winds down. The full playoff projections show the Bruins holding a slim lead in the Atlantic Division, while the Capitals remain locked in a tight race with the Rangers for the Metro's second seed.
Player Discipline
Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas has been suspended five games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for a knee-on-knee hit that ended Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews' season. The suspension, the longest of Gudas' career, comes as the league continues to crack down on dangerous hits to star players during the stretch run.
