Power Outage Coding Lessons

A power outage from NEPA delayed my coding class start from 9:30am to noon, but the disruption turned productive. Instead of losing momentum, I spent the unexpected downtime consuming tech content to mentally prepare, then dove back into my Udemy course. The morning focused on foundational concepts: proper JavaScript file linking, variables, and strings.

While these basics seem minor, they are proving essential for understanding how browsers actually read and execute code. Later, I shifted to researching API fetching via Gemini, and the complexity spiked. The terminology felt overwhelming, creating a significant processing lag for my brain.

I didn't master the material immediately, but I identified exactly what needs reviewing. This learning journey is teaching me that confusion is a natural part of growth. You rarely grasp everything in one session.

Consistency and showing up matter more than instant mastery. Despite the delays and mental fatigue, I'm still pushing forward, taking this coding education one day at a time.
