Florida Panthers grabbed Brady Tkachuk from the Ottawa Senators in a blockbuster trade that sent Ottawa two 2026 first‑round picks (No. 9 and No. 25), a 2027 first‑round pick and a 2030 second‑round pick to the Panthers. Florida also moved the No. 25 2026 pick to Seattle for winger Mackie Samoskevich.

The move reunites Brady with brother Matthew, who helped Team USA break a 46‑year gold‑medal drought. Brady, a 2018 top‑10 pick, has 213 goals, 250 assists and 463 points in 572 games. With two years left on an $8.2 million per season contract, he offers elite power forward upside at a firm cap price.

Florida’s top six has deep talent, and pairing the Tkachuk brothers with center Sam Bennett threatens defensive corps across the league. The trade also clears cap space for future moves, but the team still grapples with a shaky goaltending situation that could blunt the offensive boost.

General manager Bill Zito has once again moved aggressively to upgrade Florida’s roster. With the Tkachuk siblings back together, the Panthers aim to rebound from a 2025‑26 season derailed by injuries and compete for a playoff run.
