CVC DIF, the infrastructure arm of CVC, has agreed to acquire a significant majority stake in firstcolo, a Frankfurt-based colocation data centre operator, from Cube Infrastructure. Founded in 2007, firstcolo operates two established data centres serving over 350 enterprise customers through an integrated model of colocation, cloud, and connectivity.

The business is currently developing FRA7, a 24 MW greenfield data centre in Rosbach. This project includes a partnership to feed waste heat into the local district heating network. With CVC DIF’s backing, firstcolo aims to expand its footprint across Frankfurt and other German markets to become a leading colocation platform.

Founder-led management will remain in place, with Jerome Evans and Nicolaj Kamensek continuing as CEO and COO. Evans noted that FRA7 serves as the first building block for a scalable platform designed to support the next generation of AI, cloud, and enterprise workloads in Germany.
