Fed Week and Gold
Gold wsj.com clung to gains above the $4,000 mark as investors awaited a raft of central bank decisions, while a second market note reported that dip buyers bloomberg.com stepped in ahead of the Fed decision. Amundi, Europe's largest asset manager, said the worst is behind us bloomberg.com and sees gold rebounding toward $4,500. Demand is softer elsewhere: Indian jewelers are holding back purchases ahead of their busiest season, betting prices will fall.
Oil and Energy
Oil futures wsj.com slipped back under $100 a barrel as hopes for Middle East diplomacy grew, though crude wsj.com remained choppy as traders tracked the Israeli election. Anthropic IPO
Anthropic wsj.com estimates a $40 trillion market opportunity, and has picked JPMorgan to lead the US retail offering. Banks bloomberg.com are planning up to $21 billion of bonds to finance its Broadcom chip deal. Its adjusted profit wsj.com has drawn scrutiny, and Nvidia wsj.com will invest $3 billion in Meta's equity offering as the two expand their AI partnership.
Autos and Industrials
GM bloomberg.com is moving its stock listing from the NYSE to the Nasdaq. Mercedes-Benz wsj.com cut guidance on China weakness and higher costs, while Porsche ft.com ruled out US production. Tata Motors wsj.com cleared a key hurdle in its Iveco takeover.
