The Ukrainian heavyweight champion has dispatched Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois twice each, establishing himself as one of boxing's pound-for-pound elite.

Verhoeven, 37, brings an impressive kickboxing resume as Glory's heavyweight champion for 11 years with 13 successful defenses. However, he has only one professional boxing bout to his name from 2014. Usyk insists the preparation remains identical regardless of opponent, training with the same intensity he would for any elite boxer.

That 2009 defeat to Russia's Egor Mekhontsev at the AIBA World Championships proved transformative for Usyk.
