Saracens dominant as Gloucester slump out of Champions Cup race

Saracens dismantled Gloucester 30-14 on Saturday, extending their winning run to four straight and moving three points clear of fourth in the Premiership table. Rotimi Segun touched down twice in the first half while Fergus Burke added eight points, establishing an 18-0 lead before Ben Earl and Theo Dan sealed the bonus point.

Gloucester's defeat dropped them to ninth and out of the Champions Cup places for next season. Saracens leapfrogged Bristol into fifth after Exeter lost to Harlequins earlier that day. A remarkable turnaround for Mark McCall's side, who sat 12 points off the top four after back-to-back March defeats to Bath and Northampton.

Saracens turned a line-out into the opening try through Burke and Max Malins linking with Segun. Clinical finishing and aggressive counter-attacks kept Gloucester under pressure, with Dan driving over from a line-out maul to make it 23-0 by the 52nd minute. Referee Adam Leal departed with an Achilles injury, replaced by George Selwood, but momentum stayed with the hosts.
