Ross Whyte and Fay Henderson are set to make their World Curling Championship debuts after winning three consecutive Scottish titles. Whyte, ranked fourth globally, will lead Scotland's men's team in Ogden, USA from March 27 to April 4, while Henderson will skip the women's team in Calgary, Canada from March 14-22. Neither defending champions Bruce Mouat nor Rebecca Morrison competed in the Scottish championships.

Whyte's team includes Robin Brydone, Craig Waddell, Euan Kyle, and Duncan McFadzean. The 2022 Olympic silver medalist expressed confidence after winning Grand Slam events in Canada the past two seasons. Henderson, who served as alternate for the Olympic team, brings world junior championship experience to her lineup featuring 2022 Olympic gold medalist Hailey Duff, Lisa Davie, Katie McMillan, and Laura Watt.

Scottish Curling chief executive Vincent Bryson praised both teams for their consistency and determination in earning their world stage opportunities. The selections highlight Scotland's depth in curling talent, with Whyte ranked fourth globally behind top-ranked Mouat. Both teams aim to showcase their skills against international competition, building on Scotland's status as defending men's world champions.
