World Cup-winning lock Rosie Galligan will leave Saracens and rejoin Harlequins at season end. The 28‑year‑old is on maternity leave, due to give birth in October, and will watch Saracens’ Premiership Women’s Rugby play‑off final on 28 June before returning to London. Her partner, England forward Marlie Packer, has confirmed a move. The move reunites her with former teammates and strengthens a back‑row brimming with talent.

Galligan’s first stint with Harlequins ran from 2021 to 2023, during which she helped the club secure two titles. She then returned to Saracens, adding over 50 appearances and two championships to her résumé. Coach Ross Chisholm praised her evolution, calling her a “world‑class second row” and lauding her rugby IQ and leadership. Her experience will also mentor younger forwards in the squad.

Harlequins’ head coach Damian Welch will oversee Galligan’s integration, promising to refine her line‑out expertise. The club views her return as a boost to squad depth ahead of the next PWR campaign, while her maternity break underscores the growing support for player welfare in women’s rugby. She will miss Saracens’ final but returns refreshed, re‑signing after the play‑off final.
