Henry Pollock is poised to ask for a £1m annual wage to remain at Northampton Saints.

Agent Գed Hearn said the 21‑year‑old’s current contract, worth £150,000 a year, is far below the market rate for a player of his calibre. Pollock has earned England caps, toured with the British and Irish Lions, and helped Saints reach the Champions Cup final last season.

The club faces a £6.4m salary cap, with a single marquee player exempt from the limit. Fin Smith, Tommy Freeman and Alex Mitchell currently occupy that slot, while George Furbank’s exit opened space for new offers.

Pollock refuses overseas moves, citing England’s home‑grown policy, and remains keen on playing Sevens for Great Britain at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Saints’ wage structure may struggle to match Pollock’s demand, but the player’s marketability—boosting tickets, TV viewership and merchandise—could justify the investment.
