Lando Norris enters the 2026 Formula 1 season with heightened confidence after claiming his first drivers' title in 2025, according to McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown. The British driver edged out Max Verstappen by just two points in a thrilling championship battle. Brown emphasized Norris' determination to become a multiple title winner, comparing his mindset to legends like Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.

As McLaren unveiled their new car ahead of pre-season testing in Bahrain, Brown predicted another strong challenge from teammate Oscar Piastri, who led the championship for much of last season before fading late. The team will maintain their policy of allowing drivers to race freely for the title, with Brown stating they were "free to race" last year and will continue that approach. McLaren also secured their second consecutive constructors' title in 2025.

The team appears competitive heading into the season opener in Australia, with Brown noting they, along with Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull, "all seemed competitive" during the shakedown test in Spain. However, he cautioned it's "very early days" and premature to make predictions. The focus now shifts to the second pre-season test and the Australian Grand Prix from March 6-8.

Quick Fact: Lando Norris won the 2025 F1 title by two points from Max Verstappen.
