Wimbledon finalist Karolina Muchova is set to be sidelined for a "few weeks" after undergoing a "small surgery." The 29-year-old, ranked sixth in the world, lost to Czech compatriot Linda Noskova in a dramatic three-set final at the All England Club earlier this month. Muchova, who has dealt with wrist injuries throughout her career, did not specify the exact problem or return timeframe but confirmed she will miss the Canadian Open in Toronto, which starts on 1 August.

"I had to undergo a small surgery that will keep me off the court for a few weeks," said Muchova. "Everything went well, and I'm already working on my recovery. Sad to be missing Toronto this year. I was really looking forward to making my debut there, but recovery comes first."

The US Open takes place from 23 August, and Muchova is targeting a return for that Grand Slam. This marks her second Grand Slam final defeat, having also lost the 2023 French Open final to Iga Swiatek.
