Louis Rees-Zammit admits his return to rugby after a stint in American football has not been as smooth as he'd hoped. The Welsh wing has featured in 10 of Wales' 11 matches this season, playing at both wing and full-back, but feels he hasn't quite found his rhythm.

"I haven't settled in as quickly as I wanted to back into rugby," Rees-Zammit stated. "The more games I am playing, the more confidence I'm getting." He is targeting the 2026-27 season and the lead-up to the World Cup in Australia as a period where he can make a more significant impact.

Despite a dip in try-scoring compared to his pre-NFL record, Rees-Zammit expressed enjoyment in his return and the Welsh squad environment. He is focused on finishing the current season strongly against South Africa, acknowledging the team's need to improve physically and find their flow to compete with top teams. Wales coach Steve Tandy and attack coach Matt Sherratt are reportedly working on how best to utilize Rees-Zammit's speed. The team aims to build on recent wins and improve their consistency heading into future campaigns.
