The Olympic cricket stadium for LA 2028, currently under construction at Fairplex in Pomona, California, could host Indian Premier League exhibition matches as part of the league's U.S. expansion ambitions. Kolkata Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore confirmed the venue will serve as the home for KKR's U.S. franchise, Los Angeles Knight Riders, and will debut Major League Cricket (MLC) games this July. The modular stadium, built in three phases, will expand from 5,000 to 15,000 seats by 2028 to accommodate a six-team T20 tournament.

Mysore emphasized the importance of the playing surface, citing lessons from the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup in New York, where temporary pitch conditions drew criticism.
