Kildunne seeks new club as Sale and others weigh options

England centre Ellie Kildunne confirmed she will leave Harlequins after their recent exit and is fielding offers. The Keighley‑born back‑rower fits Sale’s ambition to repatriate elite talent, yet the club has already added Gloucester‑Hartpury imports Zoe Stratford, Tatyana Heard and Sarah Beckett. Sale’s roster already includes internationals Holly Aitchison, Morwenna Talling and Amy Cokayne, and the £250,000 salary cap may limit further spending.

Bristol Bears, who brought in American star Ilona Maher on a short loan, prize marketable players but are mired in a poor campaign that will likely see them finish above only Leicester. Their lack of ambition makes them an unlikely destination. Gloucester‑Hartpury, three‑time defending champions, could guarantee Kildunne a finals appearance, yet they have just secured full‑back Emma Sing on a new deal.

Ealing Trailfinders, fresh from a historic play‑off berth and based near Harlequins, host England captain Meg Jones and present the most convenient option for Kildunne. Exeter Chiefs, which announced seven departures Thursday, also have room in their squad. With limited interest from top‑tier clubs, Kildunne’s next move will likely land at one of these two sides.
