Glamorgan seam bowler James Harris has announced his immediate retirement from cricket at age 35, bringing an end to a 20-year professional career. The Welshman was midway through his second stint with his boyhood county, having first joined Glamorgan in 2007. Harris made his debut at just 16 years old, becoming the first 17-year-old to take a seven-wicket haul in the County Championship.

Harris burst onto the scene as a teenage prodigy, representing England in the Under-19 World Cup in 2008 before playing for England Lions. His career spanned multiple county stints and included spells with Middlesex and Worcestershire.
