Ineos Grenadiers launch Netcompany partnership ahead of Giro d’Italia

Ineos Grenadiers have rebranded as Netcompany‑Ineos Cycling Team ahead of next week’s Giro d’Italia, following a five‑year partnership with Danish IT firm Netcompany. The deal will lift the squad’s annual budget to £60 million, bringing it closer to rivals like UAE‑Team Emirates‑XRG and Visma‑Lease a Bike.

Geraint Thomas, the team’s director of racing, described the move as a return to the sport’s top tier, citing Netcompany’s AI‑driven Pulse platform that promises real‑time decision support for riders, coaches and nutritionists. The platform aims to sift through the blizzard of data now surrounding elite cycling.

The partnership arrives as Ineos has lagged behind super‑teams in budget, wins and UCI points over the past three seasons. With Tadej Pogacar’s UAE‑Team Emirates‑XRG boasting a limitless oil‑backed bankroll, Netcompany’s investment signals Ineos’s intent to compete again at the highest level.

Sir Dave Brailsford called the deal “one of the most significant partnerships in cycling,” while owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe said it creates the right conditions for more success. With a reinforced budget and cutting‑edge analytics, the team is poised to challenge for Grand Tour victories once more.
