Iain Henderson Banned for Ulster's Challenge Cup Final vs Montpellier

Ulster captain Iain Henderson will miss the European Challenge Cup final after receiving a three-match suspension from the United Rugby Championship. The 34-year-old lock was punished for a dangerous croc roll on Stormers' Deon Fourie during their 38-38 draw, an incident initially flagged as a yellow card before being upgraded to a 20-minute red card.

Henderson appeared before an independent disciplinary committee and accepted responsibility for violating Law 9.20 (d), which prohibits rolling or twisting opponents. While the offense carried a potential six-week ban, his clean disciplinary record and immediate remorse earned a 50% reduction. The suspension covers Ulster's final regular season match and the May 22 final in Bilbao, with a possible third game depending on playoff qualification.

This blow comes as Ulster pursue their first silverware in two decades. Coach Richie Murphy must also contend with injuries to Stuart McCloskey, David McCann and Jacob Stockdale. Henderson's absence leaves a significant leadership void in the pack as they prepare to face Montpellier without their experienced captain.
