John Higgins produced a remarkable comeback to defeat Mark Selby 10-8 and reach the Tour Championship semi-finals in Manchester. The 50-year-old Scot fought back from 8-5 down, repeating his success from last year's final against the same opponent. Higgins showcased his fighting qualities with breaks of 56, 92, 74, 78, and 72 to overcome Selby's earlier dominance.

In an almost identical script to last year's final, Selby had compiled impressive breaks of 127 and 131 to win five consecutive frames. However, Higgins' experience and ability to find his best form under pressure proved decisive. The four-time world champion will now face Zhao Xintong in Saturday's semi-finals at 13:00 BST. Earlier, Zhao secured his semi-final spot with a commanding 10-4 victory over Chris Wakelin, making breaks of 103, 93, 120, 134, and 108.

In other quarter-final action, Neil Robertson defeated Barry Hawkins 10-8 to set up a semi-final clash with world number one Judd Trump on Friday. Robertson, who won the tournament in 2021 and 2022, trailed 7-5 before winning five of the last six frames. The Australian described it as "a great win" against one of the toughest opponents in the game, alongside Higgins and Selby.
