Kyle Steyn's brace powered Glasgow Warriors to a 28-14 victory over Connacht in an entertaining United Rugby Championship quarter-final at Scotstoun. The winger crossed twice and produced a lung-busting defensive effort to deny the visitors a certain try in the first half, lifting the home crowd as Glasgow weathered a serious test.

After trailing 7-0 early through Cian Prendergast's score, Glasgow's Patrick Schickerling levelled before the break. The Warriors exploded after halftime with tries from Steyn and Josh McKay within ten minutes, establishing a lead they would not surrender despite Connacht's resilience.

Dave Heffernan's try and Alex Samuel's sin-binning briefly reduced Glasgow's advantage to seven points, but Jare Oguntibeju's score and Finlay Bealham's late effort kept the tension high. Connacht had surged into the playoffs on excellent form, combining the tournament's best defence with a fine try-scoring record, but ultimately fell short against the hosts' game-breaking moments.

Glasgow advance to face the Bulls or Munster at Murrayfield next Saturday, with the national stadium also hosting a potential final. Steyn's performance proved decisive as the Warriors secured their semi-final berth despite not being at their vintage best.
