In a blockbuster move, Giannis Antetokounmpo has been traded from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat. The deal, confirmed by BBC Sport, also sends Bobby Portis to Miami, while Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Kasparas Jakucionis head to Milwaukee. Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP and 2021 NBA champion, spent his entire career with the Bucks after being drafted in 2013.

This trade comes after Antetokounmpo expressed frustration with the Bucks' management last season. His future with the team had been uncertain, with the Boston Celtics also reportedly interested in the star forward. Heat president Pat Riley called the acquisition "one of the great trades" in franchise history.

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia 76ers have acquired Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics in exchange for Paul George, two first-round picks, and two second-round picks. The 76ers also signed free-agent guard Anfernee Simons. These moves significantly reshape the Eastern Conference standings.
