Erin King Warns Scotland Dangerous Ahead of Aviva Showdown

Ireland captain Erin King has warned that Scotland can "really turn it on when it matters" ahead of Sunday's Women's Six Nations clash at the Aviva Stadium. Scotland beat Ireland 26-19 in last year's tournament, and King is wary of the threat a wounded Scottish side may pose despite their struggles this campaign. "You only have to look at the Six Nations last year to see they really turn it on when it matters," King told BBC Sport NI.

Scott Bemand's Ireland have won two of their four games so far, against Italy and Wales, and are aiming for their third home victory in the final match of the championship. Scotland, by contrast, have managed just one victory from their four fixtures. King has started all four of Ireland's games this tournament, and she expects another physical battle against the Scots.

Sunday's match carries extra significance as the first standalone Women's Six Nations fixture at the Dublin venue. Over 28,000 tickets have already been sold, with King describing the occasion as one her team is "ecstatic" about. "The history this stadium holds and the history we're going to make on Sunday has really made us think of the women who have come before us and paved the way for us," she added.
