England secured their place in the T20 World Cup semi-finals with a commanding 38-run victory over West Indies at Lord's. Danni Wyatt-Hodge top-scored with 65 from 42 balls while Heather Knight contributed 43 from 26 as England posted 186-7, the highest women's T20 total at the ground. Charlie Dean claimed 2-31 with the ball, including the crucial wicket of Deandra Dottin.

Despite the sweltering London conditions, England's batting lineup adapted well, using sweeps and reverse sweeps to score 49% of their runs behind square. They also ran 79 runs impressively given the heat. West Indies struggled to keep pace, finishing at 148-5 with Shemaine Campbelle unbeaten on 51. The result came with a game to spare, extending England's winning streak to six matches.

However, England's fielding blotted their copybook with six dropped catches, though five were difficult chances. Amy Jones continued her poor form, falling in the first over for the second consecutive match. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt missed the game due to a calf injury and will likely sit out the New Zealand clash. England has reached the semi-final or final in five of the past six World Cups, but historically struggled in pressure matches. This win gives them genuine momentum.

The dropped catches came with significant caveats. Only Jones was truly culpable among the fielding errors. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews looked furious when given out caught behind on review in the fourth over, but England's early excellence in the field set the tone. Without Matthews contributing substantially, England proved comfortable winners against a side that eliminated them from the previous World Cup.
