England beat Argentina 31-24 in a chaotic Nations Championship match in Santiago del Estero after a controversial TMO decision ruled out a last-gasp Argentina try.

England led 19-3 at half-time with tries from Tommy Freeman and two from Ben Earl. Argentina rallied, exploiting two England yellow cards, but their own ill-discipline cost them. Marcus Smith and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso added tries for England.

With England down to 13 men after Henry Pollock and Emmanuel Iyogun were sin-binned, Bautista Delguy scored in the corner. Referee Angus Gardner awarded the try but TMO Brett Cronan ruled Delguy in touch. Henry Slade's covering tackle proved decisive.

The win gives Steve Borthwick's side back-to-back Nations Championship victories after beating Fiji, easing pressure following a poor Six Nations.
