ECB Blocks Euro Nations T20 Final at Lord's

The England and Wales Cricket Board blocked plans to host the Euro Nations T20 final at Lord's, despite a supporting offer from the Marylebone Cricket Club. Boards from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands developed the concept to launch the annual tournament by early next summer for both men and women.

Organizers intended to use Lord's and Sir Paul Getty's ground at Wormsley for fixtures. The ECB refused to sign the staging agreement required for an international tournament within its jurisdiction. Officials fear negative reactions from counties if international matches overlap with the domestic season.

Chief executive Richard Gould previously cited scheduling conflicts with England's international commitments. This decision forces the three developing nations to find alternative venues, stalling an effort to expand the sport's footprint across Europe. The ECB's refusal prioritizes the domestic county calendar over the growth of regional T20 competition.
