Yorkshire have secured off‑spinner Dom Bess on a fresh contract that runs until the close of the 2028 season. The 28‑year‑old England Test regular, who arrived from Somerset in 2019, will now finish his county career where he is a mainstay. Bess has claimed 227 wickets and added 2,663 runs for the club to date. The deal also includes a performance‑related bonus that rewards wicket hauls.

Making his England debut at Lord’s against Pakistan in May 2018, Bess earned 14 Test caps, the latest in India in March 2021. His spin and lower‑order batting give Yorkshire a balanced attack on the flat pitches of Headingley. Club officials praised his professionalism, noting that retaining a player of his experience strengthens the squad as they chase county silverware.

Speaking to the club website, Bess said Yorkshire feels like home and he is eager to help the side push for trophies. With a talent‑rich roster, his extension locks in a proven performer for the next six seasons. Yorkshire’s decision ensures continuity in the spin department as they aim to significantly improve their championship standing.
