Bryson DeChambeau recovered from a disastrous tee shot to share the lead after round one at LIV Adelaide. The two-time US Open champion mixed seven birdies and a bogey for a 66, despite topping his drive on the par-five 10th.

DeChambeau's embarrassing thinned drive landed on the path in front of the tee box but still allowed him to reach the green in two and make birdie. He added four more shots on the closing nine, sitting alongside Australia's Marc Leishman at -6.

Former world number one Dustin Johnson and Anthony Kim are one shot back after opening rounds of 67. Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell carded a 68 despite bogeys on the first three holes, while Tom McKibbin struggled to a two-over 74.
