Fast bowlers dominated the annual Cricket Media Club awards, with Ollie Robinson, Naavya Sharma and Ethan Bamber among the prize winners.

Robinson, 32, was named England's cricketer of the year after a remarkable return to Test cricket this summer following two years out in the cold. The Sussex paceman took 28 wickets in four Tests at an average of just 9.30, lifting him into the International Cricket Council Test bowling rankings top five. He becomes the fifth winner of the Bob Willis Trophy since it was reallocated in 2022.

Warwickshire spearhead Bamber, 27, who took 69 wickets in 16 matches as the Bears won their ninth title, was named County Championship player of the year. He claimed 32 of those wickets from late August onwards as the Bears won five of their last six games to take the title for the first time since 2021.

Middlesex's England Lions fast bowler Sharma, 21, became the 77th winner of the Young Cricketer of the Year Award, joining a list that includes Fred Trueman, Ian Botham and Ben Stokes. Sharma took 35 wickets in just nine County Championship matches at an average of 21, and helped Middlesex win the One-Day Cup. He could not attend the annual lunch at Lord's as he was representing England Lions in St Kitts.

Other winners included Tilly Corteen-Coleman, named Women's Young Cricketer of the Year by the 450-strong membership, Scotland's Kirstie Gordon, who won the Women's Cricket Award, and Angus Brown, named Disability Cricketer of the Year after hitting a 43-ball hundred against India.
