Katie Boulter's French Open campaign ended in a second-round defeat to 28th seed Anastasia Potapova, eliminating all British interest in singles competition. The British No.1 targeted her first third-round appearance at Roland Garros but couldn't maintain an early lead despite seven service breaks in the opening set.

Potapova, who climbed from outside the top 90 to world number 30 this clay season, recovered from a set down to win 5-7 6-4 6-2. The Russian-born Austrian found her rhythm on serve while Boulter struggled with consistency, broken twice in each of the final sets.

The defeat follows early exits for all other British singles hopefuls. Potapova now faces defending champion Coco Gauff in round three, seeking only her second second-week appearance at a major. British tennis continues its search for consistent Grand Slam breakthrough performances.
