Azim vs Lemos Boxing Fight Postponed Due to Injuries

Adam Azim's light-welterweight contest with Gustavo Lemos has been postponed after both fighters sustained hand injuries. The IBF number two eliminator, set for January 31 at London's Copper Box Arena, was due to headline a card on BBC Two. Promoter Boxxer confirmed the rescheduling after scans on Azim's injury.

Azim, 23, is a perfect 14-0 with 11 knockouts and was taking a significant step up against the 29-year-old Argentine. Lemos had already injured his hand, leading to a replacement being sought before Azim's own sparring setback. The event itself will still proceed with a new main event.

The card remains a landmark for British boxing, marking the second time the BBC has broadcast a prime-time professional fight in two decades. The original headliner was a pivotal opportunity for Azim to move into world title contention. A new date for the Azim-Lemos clash will now be sought by Boxxer.
