Players including Japan's Hayato Matsuoka and Russia's Daniil Ostapenkov fled the court as defense systems intercepted the drone, sending debris toward the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone.

Tournament officials had initially declared the event safe to proceed Monday after consulting with local authorities, implementing extra security measures and holding the competition behind closed doors. The Fujairah Oil Industry Zone fire was quickly contained with no injuries reported. Local authorities confirmed the blaze resulted from falling debris after successful interception of the drone by air defense systems.
