Two-time Olympic champion Adam Peaty is targeting the LA 2028 Games after confirming his comeback following a year-long break. The British swimmer, who married model Holly Ramsay in December, will compete in both the 50m and 100m breaststroke at this week's British Championships as part of his preparation for major international meets.

Peaty's decision to return was influenced by the addition of the 50m breaststroke to the Olympic program, giving him another shot at individual gold. The 29-year-old finished fourth in the 100m at the Edinburgh International Swim Meet last month, beaten by 18-year-old British junior world champion Filip Nowacki, but won gold in the 50m. He credits his family life and support from his famous in-laws, including TV chef Gordon Ramsay, for helping him maintain a positive mindset.

After contracting coronavirus before the Paris Olympics and settling for silver, Peaty says he's learned from past struggles with injury and mental health. The swimmer believes proper planning and support will help him avoid burnout as he chases more success in Los Angeles. 'The Olympics is the one that excites me,' Peaty said, emphasizing his focus on gathering racing experience over the next two years to deliver his best performance in 2028.
