British sprinter Adam Gemili has retired from athletics at 32, concluding a career marked by Olympic appearances and European glory. The former Chelsea youth player transitioned to sprinting after football, reaching the London 2012 Olympics semi-finals in the 100m. He secured relay medals at three World Championships and claimed European Championship gold in the 200m in 2014.

Gemili narrowly missed Olympic medals, finishing fourth in both the 200m at Rio 2016 and the Doha 2019 World Championships. His personal bests of 9.97 seconds in the 100m and 19.97 seconds in the 200m place him among Britain's elite sprinters. Gemili expressed gratitude on Instagram, calling it an 'incredible journey' and thanking supporters for their belief.
