British teenager Hannah Klugman secured her first WTA Tour victory at the Nottingham Open, defeating compatriot Harriet Dart in straight sets. The 17-year-old showcased her potential with a commanding performance that marked a significant milestone in her rising career.

Klugman first emerged on the international stage by winning the prestigious Orange Bowl junior championships at just 13. Past champions include Coco Gauff and Chris Evert. She made history earlier this year as the first Briton in nearly five decades to reach the French Open girls' final, though she fell to Lili Tagger in straight sets.

Her serve proved decisive against Dart, delivering six aces without dropping a point on her second serve. After claiming the first set comfortably, Klugman rallied from 4-2 down in the second to advance. She now faces fourth seed Marie Bouzkova in the next round.

Fellow British wildcard Alicia Dudeney exited the tournament, losing 6-4 7-6 (7-2) to Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska. Klugman's breakthrough win positions her as Britain's leading hope in the women's draw.
