Brazil winger Vinicius Jr has agreed to a new six-year contract with Real Madrid, extending his stay at the club of his "dreams" despite interest from Arsenal.

Talks had stalled but Real presented a fresh offer on Wednesday, which Vinicius accepted. He joined Real from Flamengo in 2018 and has since made 128 appearances, scoring 375 goals across all competitions. He has been instrumental in Real's success, contributing to two Champions League titles, three La Ligas, and one Copa del Rey.

Arsenal, who were reportedly interested in the Brazilian, will now pursue other targets. Vinicius' new deal was announced on the same day Real confirmed the signing of Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande for up to £120m. Diomande is Real's sixth summer signing under new head coach Jose Mourinho.
