Victor Udoh: Southampton and Antwerp Mourn

Southampton and Royal Antwerp have announced the death of former academy player Victor Udoh at just 21 years old. The Nigerian left-winger spent six months with Saints' academy from February to September 2025, featuring in eight Premier League 2 matches before joining Czech second-tier side Ceske Budejovice.

Udoh began his European career with Antwerp in 2023, making 28 appearances for their academy and scoring 12 goals for their 'Young Reds' team. He progressed to make his first team debut in the same season before moving to England, showing promise as a young talent with potential at higher levels.

Both clubs expressed devastation at Udoh's passing. Southampton stated they were "devastated by the tragic passing" while Antwerp shared their "great dismay" at learning of his death. The tributes highlighted the impact Udoh had during his brief but promising career across multiple European academies.
