Trent Alexander-Arnold World Cup Snub: What It Means for Real Madrid Star

Trent Alexander-Arnold's World Cup hopes have taken a severe hit after being left out of Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad. The Real Madrid defender, who has not featured for the national team since June 2025, was absent from the 35-man group for upcoming friendlies against Uruguay and Japan.

Tuchel confirmed he had not yet spoken to the 27-year-old about his exclusion, marking Alexander-Arnold's fourth consecutive squad omission. Despite Chelsea's Reece James being unavailable, the former Liverpool star finds himself behind at least five other players in the right-back pecking order, including Jarrell Quansah, Djed Spence, and Tino Livramento.

The decision comes despite Alexander-Arnold's return to fitness at Real Madrid, where he has started Champions League knockout games against Benfica and Manchester City. However, Tuchel has consistently favored players who offer more defensive solidity, with Ezri Konsa also an option at right-back.
