Tottenham secured Argentine defender Marcos Senesi on a free after his Bournemouth exit. The 29‑year‑old will join the Hotspur Stadium on 1 July pending clearance. Senesi left amid rejected contract offers, choosing a club that values his role in a rebuilding phase to strengthen defensive lineup for the upcoming season.

Senesi, capped three times for Argentina and absent from last year's World Cup squad, cited a "very special feeling" joining 2025 Europa League winners. He praised Spurs for showing intent early and expressed eagerness to contribute to a team aiming for European consistency in the Premier League as a cornerstone.

Roberto de Zerbi welcomed Senesi as a defensive upgrade after back‑to‑back 17th‑place finishes. The Italian coach highlighted the centre‑back's game reading, comfort in possession play, and mentality. Senesi will don number five, joining Andy Robertson, also a free‑transfer, to bolster the squad for the season's title ambitions and defensive solidity.

Spurs also announced midfielder Yves Bissouma will depart this summer, ending a 90‑appearance stint that began with a £30m move from Brighton. With Senesi and Robertson’s arrivals, Tottenham seeks to reverse recent league stagnation, aiming to re‑establish itself among England’s top‑four contenders in the Premier League and European competitions forever.
