Swansea City have signed Sunderland defender Jenson Seelt on loan for the remainder of the season. The 23-year-old Dutch centre-back has played 21 times for Sunderland since joining from PSV Eindhoven in 2023 and previously spent the first half of last season on loan at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg.

Seelt's arrival comes despite positive news on Ben Cabango, whose heel injury is not serious. Club captain Cabango limped off during the draw with Sheffield United last weekend but could still feature when Vitor Matos' team travel to Derby County on Saturday.

Seelt will join Cabango, Stephen Welsh and Filip Lissah as central defensive options for Matos, though Swansea could still move for another centre-back before next Tuesday's transfer deadline. They have lost Cameron Burgess, who played every minute of the 2025-26 Championship campaign, to an Achilles injury likely to rule him out until next season. Lissah is primarily viewed by Matos as a right-back option alongside Josh Key.
