The Scottish FA has disbanded its independent panel that reviewed major refereeing decisions in the Premiership. This voluntary three-man key match incidents (KMI) panel, established in 2024, provided weekly verdicts with the aim of enhancing transparency. However, concerns over its "purpose, effectiveness and impact on Scottish football," first raised by Dundee United in February last year, led to other clubs reportedly withdrawing their participation this season.

Separate from the KMI panel, the SFA's head of refereeing, Willie Collum, will continue to offer monthly video explanations of significant decisions through his VAR Review Show. These reviews assess the correctness of calls. Collum will also maintain his existing meetings with club captains and managers, which are considered a more valuable forum for discussing contentious incidents.

The KMI panel's retrospective judgments occasionally differed from the views later expressed by Collum in his VAR Review Show.
